Separation Anxiety

What is Separation Anxiety or what are Separation Issues?

To put it simply, it is a feeling of panic when left alone. As soon as we understand this, the more compassionate we are in helping our dog. Being alone may mean being left in a room, being at a physical distance away from one particular person they feel bonded with or being left in the house.

Separation anxiety is curable with the right support and guidance. We are here to help you through the training programme, it is never a quick fix and we know how confusing it can be so we always support our clients long-term.

Here are some signs of separation anxiety in dogs that are left alone:

Bark, howls, whines or cries excessively Pacing Soils the house only when left alone Rips, shreds, chews or destroys Trembling, freezing or hiding/withdrawing Tries to escape Anorexia Self-harming Gets anxious when getting ready to leave Vomits, drools or has diarrhea when left alone Excessive greeting when returning home Depression Following you everywhere Panting, sweaty paws, excessive shedding Excessive water consumption Aggression Eyes wide, tail tucked and ears pinned back

We fully support and guide you throughout the training so you are never left wondering what to do. This is a gradual desensitisation programme where we never push your dog to feel uncomfortable or anxious.

If your dog shows any of the signs above and you would like your dog to become happy and relaxed when left alone, please contact us here.
